As if soaking up the atmosphere at Download with a refreshing Tuborg wasn’t enough, Tuborg is giving lucky drinkers the opportunity to experience VIP treatment with some free backstage passes. Not only that, Tuborg is offering festival goers the chance to see their faces on the main stage screens and on their AMP IT UP video wall, giving you the chance to become part of festival history.

Keep an eye out for roving photographers at Download who’ll be snapping away volunteers throughout the day.

BATTLE OF THE BANDS
The Leadmill venue in Sheffield in association with Tuborg and Live Nation is giving your band the chance to appear on the bill!

The heats will take place on the first four Sundays in May, with the winner of each going onto the final on Sunday 31st May at The Leadmill in Sheffield. With a panel of judges from the music industry, the winning band will then get a 25 minute slot on the Tuborg stage at the Download Festival ’09 on Saturday 13th June.

It started in the bedroom, but the neighbours complained, so for the summer we’ve had to find a temporary new home for all the sh*t hot bands that we have been working with since it all kicked off in 2007, and hell, the only place that would really fit the bill in June is the UK’s number 1 rock fest! That’s right ladies and gentlemen us chaps at Red Bull Bedroom Jam will be hosting our own stage at Download 2009! We’re going to be bringing you a selection of Red Bull Bedroom Jam favourites including (but by no means limited to!) My Passion, The Auteur, Dissolved In and None The Less along with a host of other friends to keep your ears bleeding…

Playing the Red Bull Bedroom Jam arena across 3 days will be a host of the best hard rock bands from all seasons with headline slots from firm favourites My Passion, Dissolved In and None The Less… but there is one space still to be filled for one very lucky new band. For the first time ever an unknown band will get to play the main stage in a live broadcast from their Bedroom. This world first will see the virtual gig beamed to thousands of rockers ahead of the headline performance from Slipknot.

If you’ve got the talent, are under 19 years old and are building your fanbase then your upload could get you to Download. Here’s how, in 3 easy steps:

1. Upload your video to www.redbullbedroomjam.com. Don’t worry about the quality, a mobile phone vid of you playing in your bedroom will do…it’s the talent that counts (a good tip would be to check out Don Broco’s video on the homepage!)
2. Get your fans to log on and watch and rate your vid...
3. The most popular artists get selected for a live-streamed performance…on broadcast day, the Red Bull Bedroom Jam crew collect the musicians and selected mates and fans, and the winners rock out in front of the camera!

For this one off special, videos will have to be uploaded by Friday 5th of June…The winners will then be informed on Monday 8th, so, get your vid uploaded and your fans a’ voting…

…and finally (back to Download!), once you’ve enjoyed the day’s high decibel based activities we’ll still be on hand to keep the party going into the wee hours, just stop by our campsite shindig for a cold Red Bull and Vodka and some special guest DJ action…

Guitar Hero World Tour players can brag that they have played to the same crowds as Faith No More, Slipknot and Deff Leppard, as Activision once again brings the hardest-rocking videogame to the hardest-rocking festival.

The Guitar Hero World Tour session - running in The Bell Tent nightly (Click Here for exact details) - will offer fans the opportunity to perform on-stage in front of up to 1,000 fans, and genuinely experience what it’s like to be a rock star. Last year saw some incredible performances - and this year, with the introduction of the full band set-up, it’s hoped that acts will take things to a whole new level.

Individuals, double acts or full bands can perform on stage, drawing from a selection of songs from Guitar Hero World Tour and Guitar Hero Metallica.

Limited spaces will be allocated on a first come, first served basis - head to the Bell Tent on the night and we’ll do our best to get you up and rocking.
