Planet Rock listeners vote Download as their Festival Of The Year

The dawning of a new year always ushers in a plethora of ‘best-of-the-year’ polls, and last month listeners of top classic rock radio station Planet Rock were tasked with voting for their favourite festival of 2009.

The lines have closed, the votes have been counted and verified, and we’re thrilled to hear that they voted Download 2009 as their Festival Of The Year!

“Any festival that is good enough to put Def Leppard, Whitesnake, Journey, ZZ Top and Dream Theater onto the same stage on the same day is doing something right,” said the radio station. “And 33% of you agreed that Download was the best festival of the year for the second year running.”

Thanks a lot if you voted for us – we’ll be gunning for a hat trick in 2010 – we’re not gonna let you down!
